Shipping

All orders are shipped via DHL Express and will be insured up to the value of the item.Please note that any duties and taxes incurred in the country of destination are the responsibility of the customer. These import taxes apply only when shipping outside of the UK and VAT will be applied at checkout when shipping within the UK.

Every piece of Castro Smith jewellery is handmade by Castro in his London studio, the lead-time for Made to Order pieces is 10 weeks and bespoke items can be upwards of 6 months depending on the final design of the piece. If you need your piece sooner, please email kobayashi@castrosmith.com and we can discuss your deadline.

All Ready to Ship items listed on the website will be shipped within 1 week of purchase but please do let us know if you need it right away and we will do our best to accommodate. 

In the case that the item is a surprise for someone else, your Castro Smith piece will arrive in an unbranded cardboard box. However, inside the piece will be wrapped within a beautifully hand crafted Japanese wooden box accompanied by a drawing of the piece.

Refunds & Returns 

We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase for all Ready to Ship pieces in their original condition and that have had no personalisation or alteration to the original design. Any item that is altered to a specific customer request is non-refundable, this includes all Made to Order pieces, Bespoke items and any Ready to Ship pieces that have had additional personalisations at the customers request. 

Bespoke commissions or any jewellery altered to a customer request are exempt from any refund.

We hope you are really happy with your special piece of Castro Smith jewellery, however, if for any reason you are not then please contact the team immediately and we will try to rectify the situation or offer advice.

Castro Smith is a solo maker, he carefully considers and handcrafts every piece to suit each individual customer's size and vision, we do not offer a refunds for Made to Order or Bespoke items as these pieces are made to order and we do not offer refunds on Ready to Ship pieces that have any kind of personalisation added to the design by customer request. 

I hope this does not seem unreasonable and that you understand the long hours and personal attention that goes into making each piece.

Warranty

There is a one year repair or exchange warranty on Castro Smith products. This covers craftsmanship faults only, the warranty does not cover wear and tear from regular use or loss of an item. In order to consider a warranty claim, we will need to see the piece in person to verify the claim, as well as receiving proof of purchase. 

Please note that it is the customers' responsibility to accurately confirm their ring size. If an error is made, and your piece needs re-sizing or re-making, then there will be a fee of £300 + VAT. To start this process, we require the ring to be unworn and in perfect condition. This is due to the fact that any coatings will be burnt off in the re-sizing process and the ring will require re-engraving and plating.

In the case that your ring only. needs to be needs to be sized up a small amount, we can complete this free of charge within one year of purchase.

* We do not repair works that have been badly treated or have lost their plating from over use. If you have plating on the outside of the engravings on your piece, please be aware, if worn too often, the plating will wear away over time. We always suggest with pieces with any outer plating that they should be worn as occasion wear only *

Damages and issues 

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Refunds
 
If you are eligible for a return due to damage in transit or a defective piece. We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
